Hunted list: how to keep it up to date without a spreadsheet
Quick answer: A hunted list only stays up to date on its own when it follows the enemy guild instead of names typed one by one. In TXBot, !hunted addguild puts the whole guild on the list and anyone who joins later is added automatically, with a TeamSpeak alert when a hunted logs in.
Every guild has had its hunted spreadsheet: one tab with the names, another with the makers, a notes column nobody reads. It starts out fine and, two weeks later, half the names are wrong. The problem is not whoever keeps the spreadsheet; it is that the enemy list changes faster than anyone can type.
Why does the spreadsheet always fall behind?
- People join and leave the guild every day. The reinforcement the enemy recruited yesterday is not on the spreadsheet, and that is exactly who will show up at your hunt.
- Name changes. The hunted buys a name change and drops off the list, even though it is the same char.
- Typos. One accent or one wrong letter, and that name will never match the online list.
- Nobody looks at the right time. A spreadsheet warns you of nothing. It only says who is an enemy, not who just logged in.
- Context gets lost. Whose main is whose, who is a scout, why that level 30 is on the list: it all lives in one person's head.
What does a living list need?
The turning point is to stop registering people and start following the guild. If the list follows the enemy guild, whoever joins it is on the list the same day, without anyone typing anything. Loose names, such as makers and outside allies, are still added by hand, but with a comment saying who they are. And the list has to warn you: knowing a hunted logged in right away is worth more than any well-formatted spreadsheet.
The whole guild with one command
In TXBot, the list lives on your guild's TeamSpeak and is managed through a private message to the bot. The main command is this one:
!hunted addguild Nome da Guild
All members go on the list, and so does anyone who joins the guild later. Whoever leaves the guild stays on the list until someone removes them, because they are almost always still an enemy; the bot shows they are a former member. If a hunted changes name, the bot notices, updates the list and tells the guild the old and the new name. When you add a loose name with !hunted add Name, the bot checks on the server's website that the character exists, which ends the typo problem.
Comments: who is who
!hunted add Name, maker of So-and-soadds them with the comment right away.!hunted comment Name, main of guild Xchanges the comment of someone already on the list.!hunted listshows everything registered, online or not, with the comments.!check Nametells you which lists the character is on, their level, vocation and whether they are online.
What about makers and allies outside the guild?
Following the guild covers most of the list, but it misses whoever plays from outside: the maker the enemy uses to spy, the ally from another guild, the new char that has not joined yet. Those go in by hand, always with a comment. To find the maker, !scan Name points out an enemy's likely other characters from login switches, and !charlogs Name shows a suspect's latest logins, levels and deaths. In the panel you can set a level cut, and anyone below it is shown separately as a maker, so the mains list stays clean.
Login alerts on TeamSpeak
Each list becomes a TS channel with who is online right now, from highest to lowest level, with vocation, time online and how many levels they gained today and this week. When a hunted logs in or dies, the guild gets a poke. Anyone who wants fewer alerts adjusts it just for themselves: !pokes só mortes (deaths only), !pokes sem login (no login pokes), !pokes off, or !pokes on to turn them back on.
RedSkull and hunted hours
Caught an enemy with a RedSkull? Mark them with !rs Name 30 (30 days; with no number it stays until someone removes it with !rs Name off). The icon shows next to the name on the list and “RedSkull” appears in the login poke, and !rs alone shows who is marked. The Hunted hours channel shows the average number of enemies online per day and hour over the last 30 days, with the peak and the quietest time: good for choosing when to hunt in peace or when to strike.
The setup step by step is in the hunted list on TeamSpeak guide, and the full command list is on the commands page.
Frequently asked questions
If someone leaves the enemy guild, do they leave the hunted list?
No. They stay on the list until someone removes them with !hunted del Name, because they are almost always still an enemy. The bot shows they are a former guild member.
What if a hunted changes name?
The bot notices the change, updates the list with the new name and tells the guild the old and the new name.
Can I get death alerts only?
Yes. Send !pokes só mortes in a private message to the bot. It only affects you; !pokes on turns everything back on.
Can anyone edit the list?
Who can edit is set in the panel, under Permissions, by TS group. With no group set, any member can. Anyone can see who is online with !hunted.
