TeamSpeak for your UltronOT guild: hunted, deaths and respawns

Quick answer: You can have your UltronOT hunted list on your guild's TeamSpeak, with login and death pokes, a death list showing the killer and a respawn queue. TXBot, an independent bot, reads all of it from the server's public website, on the Ultron OT world.

Anyone who plays UltronOT in a guild knows the fight does not happen only inside the game. Knowing which enemy just logged in, who died and to whom, and who is holding the hunt you wanted decides a lot during the day. This post shows what is worth having on an UltronOT guild's TeamSpeak and what a bot can read from the server to help with it.

What an UltronOT guild gains from an organized TeamSpeak

  • A hunted list in a channel. Online enemies show up in a channel everyone can see, from highest to lowest level, with vocation and time online. Nobody needs to keep refreshing the site's online page.
  • Login and death pokes. When a hunted logs in or dies, whoever wants it gets a poke right away. Each member chooses what they receive, so people who are just chatting are not bothered.
  • Death list. Friend and hunted deaths land in a channel with the level and the killer, telling player kills from monster deaths apart.
  • Maker hunting. Using the login and logout history, the !scan command points out the likely other characters on an enemy's account.
  • Respawn queue. Each hunt has an owner and a time limit, and the queue avoids arguments in the voice channel.
  • War score. !war shows the week's kills and losses, and the Weekly kills channel is always up to date.

What TXBot reads from UltronOT

UltronOT has a single world, Ultron OT (8.60, Open PvP), so there is no world to pick at checkout: the bot follows the whole server. From the server's public website, it reads:

  • The full online list, every 60 seconds, with name, level and vocation.
  • The server's latest deaths, every 30 seconds, with the level of death and the killers in the order the site shows them, players and monsters.
  • Guilds, with members, rank and status, so you can add a whole guild at once.
  • Character profiles, which the bot uses to check that a name exists and to show level, vocation and guild in !check.

UltronOT's online list is large and spread over several pages on the site, so the bot reads it once a minute and not faster. In practice, the login poke arrives about a minute after the enemy logs in. Deaths are read more often because they fit on a single page.

How to set it up in a few minutes

  1. Free trial. Pick UltronOT when you start the trial. It is 3 days free, no card needed.
  2. Connect TeamSpeak. In the panel, enter your TS3 or TS6 IP and port and paste a privilege key from the admin group. The bot joins on its own.
  3. Create the lists. One enemy list (hunted) and one friend list. Each becomes a channel.
  4. Add the guilds. In a private message to the bot, !hunted addguild Guild Name brings in every member, and anyone who joins the guild later too.
  5. Organize respawns. In the panel, import the list of hunts your guild uses. Each respawn gets a short code, and whoever wants to hunt sends !resp with that code.

An independent bot

TXBot is not official to UltronOT nor a partner of the server. It only uses what the public website shows to any player, never asks for a game login or password and does not touch anything on the server. Reading is shared among the guilds that use the bot, so it does not load the site.

The server summary is on the UltronOT page. To dig deeper, see the guides hunted list on TeamSpeak, how to find a maker and respawn queue.
